Cost of Care
Understanding how to pay for care can feel overwhelming. We are here to help you navigate every option available to you.
Understanding how to fund care at home can be confusing. There are several options available depending on your financial situation, health needs, and local authority. At Divine Health Services, we accept all major funding routes and our team can guide you through the process from start to finish.
Whether you are self-funding, receiving local authority support, or eligible for NHS Continuing Healthcare, we work with you to ensure you receive the best possible care under The Divine Standard — regardless of how it is funded.
If you have savings and assets above the upper capital limit (currently £23,250 in England), you will be expected to fund your own care. This is the most common way our clients pay for care. Self-funding gives you complete freedom to choose your care provider, the level of care you receive, and when it starts.
Most of our clients are self-funders who value the quality and transparency of The Divine Standard.
If your savings and assets are below £23,250, your local authority may contribute towards your care costs. You will need a needs assessment from your council, followed by a financial assessment to determine how much you will need to contribute.
Even with council funding, you have the right to choose your care provider. We can help you navigate this process.
Direct payments are funds given to you by your local authority so you can arrange your own care, rather than having the council arrange it for you. This gives you maximum control over who provides your care and how it is delivered.
NHS Continuing Healthcare (CHC) is a package of care arranged and funded solely by the NHS for individuals who have a "primary health need." If eligible, the NHS pays for all of your care — it is not means-tested. This is the most comprehensive funding option available.
Our nurse-led team can help you understand whether you may be eligible for NHS Continuing Healthcare and support you through the assessment process.
Attendance Allowance is a tax-free benefit for people aged 65 or over who need help with personal care due to a physical or mental disability. It is not means-tested and can be used to contribute towards the cost of care at home.
There are additional ways to fund care at home that may be available to you, depending on your circumstances.
